Sorry Britain First, you have got it wrong!

I have to confess that I knew very little about Britain First before President Trump gave them worldwide publicity by circulating three of their videos to his 44 million followers. Their website suggests they have much in common with Christians. Their founder Jim Dowson is a former Calvinist minister. Their stated aim is to protect ‘British and Christian morality’. They campaign against Islam and abortion. They tell people to read the Bible. They offer ‘solidarity patrols’ in Jewish areas to protect Jewish people against anti-Semitism.

It all sounds good and on a number of issues Revelation TV are in agreement with them. So why isn’t Revelation TV promoting their activities and inviting their leaders to sit on the studio ‘red sofa’?

For starters here are a few reasons…

We are concerned about the leadership of Britain First and their links with other organizations. The founders of Britain First were all former members of the BNP – the British National Party.

The videos that President Trump has promoted have not been verified as true. Jesus said Let your yes be yes and your no be no. In other words, stand on truth. These videos are promoted by Britain First but their truthfulness has not been verified.

Their approach is confrontational and creates hatred and division. It is important to stand firm on issues but to do it in a spirit of love and compassion. Jesus was asked which was the greatest commandment and he replied, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. He went on to say the second commandment was to Love your neighbour as much as you love yourself.

At Revelation TV we believe in standing firm on the truth and speaking it out without fear or favour. But we seek to do so in a spirit of love. Sadly, we see that spirit of love lacking in Britain First
