Be an encourager

‘Anxiety in the heart…causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.’ - Proverbs 12:25 NKJV

What can you do for somebody else today? Do you know you hold in your heart, in your hand a gift that you can give to somebody else and what better gift than the spiritual kind.

Romans 1:11-12 New International Version (NIV) says I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. I imagine Paul´s longing and excitement to go and meet with a group of believers and share his journey with what God has done and is doing in his life and in turn I hear the that group of believers, voices raised in excitement, telling too of the things that God has done in their life. And we are no different, when we meet with each other and tell of the things God is doing in our life, we are mutually encouraged and spurred on to the next part of our journey. And we need that, the Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. God, our Father, has placed us in Community to live and build each other up. Let´s take part in that today.

And He knows us all so well, He knows about anxiety and He knows about depression but as with all things God has the answer. Have you a good word to share with somebody who might be suffering today or can you share your journey and be encouraged by another.

For the journey, the race, for life we need to be strong - 1 Thessolonians 5.11 says “be an encourager so that we can make each other strong” and as we encourage, as we speak good words, our hearts are encouraged, that´s how God does it.
