Loneliness is one of the greatest epidemics in the world today – people, young and old complain of feeling desperately lonely and how much it pains them. Loneliness is an unnatural state for us to feel, we love to be with people and to share our lives.
But loneliness is so often not the fact that we are alone but that we are unconnected. That we feel unseen. In this fast paced world we seem to be rushing everything and connecting with each other – really connecting – seems to be of the lowest priority – not even on the list of things to do.
But not with God – God sees us and He knows us. Do you know He knows when you sit and when you rise. That he knows your thoughts and each word that is in your mouth before you say it!
God knows you. He connects with you on a the deepest of levels, He knows your heart and your inmost being. He made your inmost being.
He sees you.
Sit and think about that for a moment.
He knows you.
There is nothing to hide, no mask to wear, you can connect with Him in a way you can’t with others, nobody will connect with you like He will.
As the Psalmist said - Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. – The Message bible says it like this “This is too much too wonderful, I can’t take it in!”
And we can use this connection to connect with others. Many who are lonely don’t have this vital connection.
Ask God for wisdom in how and who to connect with. And bring them in to relationship with yourself and with Him.
